2nd hand GW account merging? - Guild Wars Forums

so i have factions, a friend had prophecies but she is tired of the game and i asked if she would give me her acc, surprisingly she said yes, so i tried to put merge accounts but it didnt work, any1 know what could be the problem? or did 1 of us just typed the wrong CD key? O.o

Can't. Once you use up the CD key and tie it to an email address, you can't reuse the key (input on another existing account to merge).

Congratulations, you are now the owner of two separate login names/accounts.

I have bought Factions also and have two characters I now play at lvl 20.

If when the game shop calls to tell me that the prophercies game that I purchased has arrived, after I install, can I merge the account ?

I dont mind having two chars that stay factions but I was kinda hoping I'd have 4 Fact/Proph chars .

Thats how I interpreted the faction FAQ anyway.

Merging accounts must occur during the creation of the account. When you first start up guildwars, you'll see a link to "Create Account or Add Access Key". You will need to click on this link. This then gives you a dual pane window. On the left side is add key to existing account and on the right is create a new account. If you want to merge, which will give you a total of 6 character slots, you choose the left side, add key to existing account, enter in the correct information for the account you want to add the key to, and follow the prompts from there.

Just gotta work on the game shop now then finally some more parts of the game to experience .
